yyyup, it’s official. This is the new and permanent home of Phuzzy Comics. My skills with WordPress have improved since Camp Firebelly, so I flexed some web design muscles! From now on, I’ll be updating here rather than on Smackjeeves. These are exciting times, yes??
In relation to the comic, I apologize in advance for making it so “inside jokey” but this is a specific reference to the board game Settlers of Catan. Over the past year I’ve developed a solid strategy of hoarding one resource the entire game and hoping I can turn it into other things with access to ports. The first time I tried it, I was named Sheep Baron for my monopoly over the sheep supply. Now we just call it the “Sheep Town” strategy, because by the end of the game everything I’d built was from sheep. This is what it looks like in-game:
It’s like monopoly, but nobody goes into debt, they just win slower.
Wow…all I can say is that I used that strategy recently, too! And mine was on a 6 near the ocean! So, I was accused of throwing sheep into the ocean.
Haha I can’t say it’s served me well for EVERY game. Also our games tend to get very heated, and by the end we’re just shouting at each other to trade or build. All in good fun!

I love this game ^_^ I don’t own it, however my best friend does, and sometimes I go over and play with him, his brother, and his parents.
The sheepath could move on its own like an escalator or something.

And wow I’m sort of relieved there’s someone cool like you who plays this game :3. I always play this game at my school’s chess club..but it’s sad because 3 only play while the other members (like 8) would play other games..Life, monopoly, lol Halo Risk.
Yup that is totally my intention, because with cities on sheep tiles and a port, I CAN MAKE MIRACLES (out of sheep) OR LOTS OF ROADS.
I played last night and made myself a Sheep Town. At one point in the game, I had all the sheep in my hand. I’m not saying that no other player had sheep, I’m saying that the ENTIRE deck of sheep was in my hand.

My good man, as much as I love Settlers of Catan, you have yet to unlock the full addictive power of that game. I *highly*, *strenuously*, *insert other frothing-at-the-mouth-type adverb* recommend you get the Cities and Knights expansion. My friends and I have played that for years, and it makes the original unexpanded Settlers boring by comparison.
It’s THAT good.
I’ll take the frothing as a sign it’s worth it!

when I first saw this I immediately thought of Minecraft. In fact you wouldn’t have to change much at all to make it about Minecraft
Never played it, but I’m afraid of where my life would go if I did.
I assumed it WAS about Minecraft, until I read the newspost. Heck, I have a wheat farm on the server I play on and nowhere near as much wool as I need. Can we develop a way to trade across games?
I didn’t really get this comic before, but then Catan went on sale on Xbox Live that same week. And… Now I keep monopolizing sheep. Like, I can’t do anything else. Thanks a lot!
The best part is when you port trade with sheep. The sound effects… “Baaaaaa SPLASH.”

I was instantly declared Sheeplord my first game and the strategy has brought me to victory several times. I won recently as a Woodlord, but that one seems a little dirty to me.
