Also depends on what type of animation you are doing. Frame-by-frame, is a bitch and WILL take forever.
That other type of animation (I’ll just call it “tweening” because that is what it is called in flash) doesn’t take all that long and only requires a couple frames.
There is also that ‘puppet’ animation where they use a couple frames of arms to hands and stuff like that. It is a lot harder than tweening in my opinion just because it takes forever to look realistic and often times than not it DOESN’T.
I personally prefer tweening, the balance of realistic looking animations + fewer animations makes my lazy self happy.
This was one of those things that made me scared to animate.

I liked tweening for a while but it exaggerates my lack of drawing talent when I try to make things move.
Although in my opinion using shape tweening on colored gradients is always good for a laugh if it doesn’t crash flash.
