So the cat flew out of the bag a few days ago, but Penny Arcade posted the official list of the Strip Search contestants and I’m excited to say that I made it onto the show!! I’ve been throwing around the phrase “I have to go on a mysterious vacation for two weeks” and now you all know why :)
For those who are unaware of Penny Arcade’s happenings, Strip Search is a webcomic reality show for artists and the premise is simple: compete until there is one left standing. I applied back in the fall of 2012 and ran through a lot of emotional hoops with each subsequent tier of the application process.
Then I went on a mysterious vacation and was filmed the entire time. The footage of us will be amalgamated into a watchable, entertaining reality show for all of you to enjoy while I flail and spaz on camera.
The show is being produced by Loading Ready Run and the other twelve artists involved are as follows:
Maki Naro, Tavis Maiden, Lexxy Douglass, Amy T Falcone, Ty Halley, Alex Hobbs, Abby Howard, Erika Moen, Katie Rice, Mackenzie Schubert, and Nick Trujillo.
I hope you guys are as excited as I am because it’s going to be great!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Woo! Congratulations Monica! I’ve been following your comic for a while and was surprised to see you on the Strip Search list, it was a really pleasant surprise and I can’t wait to see the show since you were the only comicer I followed from before the announcement to make it in. No matter what the outcome of the show was, I’ll be wishing you luck and the best; keep up the great work! =D

So I just saw this posted on a forum and at first thought it was about Steve from Blues Clues and his boyfriend or something. Then I noticed the website and followed that and read all these comics and then wrote this. My opinion on this comic is “cool stuff”

I started reading this after hearing about it from Strip Search, and I gotta say I’m rooting for you! I love the comic, it’s so utterly adorable and cute and funny! I hope you have fun doing the show even if you don’t win. Good luck! ^_^
