2-D Girls

Remember the time when you were counseling me through singleness and then I was like “wait”. Also, this is the dating sim we’re talking about.
My initial reaction to his description of the visual novel was “JAPAN WHY”. But after looking at the wikipedia page, the characters seem less exploitative-of-helpless-girls-in-wheelchairs and actually pretty interesting?
Example: The girl with no legs is a track runner with the help of prosthetics, or the girl with no arms has super dexterous feet and she is a painter? That seems like a pretty sincere characterization for a dating sim about girls with disabilities, which makes it less judgement worthy.
In context.

I’ve only ever heard good things about it, but I haven’t played it myself.
Also, NO LEGS.
yea I was pleasantly surprised when I looked into it!
C’MON. Katawa Shoujo is pure gold. GOOOOLD.
Also forget the legless chick. It’s all about the bliiiind ladies. ;D
Dude I’m all about the painter girl just cuz she wears pants! But I hear she’s difficult and super depressing :(
It’s true. IT’S ALL TRUE. ;_;
Speaking of pants, how come you never draw yourself wearing any in-comic?
I mean, wearing ANYTHING below the waist?
I’M ON TO YOU, YOU FLASHER!
Burn victims for me.
Katawa Shoujo developers Four Leaf Studios isn’t actually a Japanese company. It’s a group of developers from all around the world which was formed in, of all places, 4chan.
so basically your friend is Keima.
I played a bit of the sim, it’s not half bad. Like you guessed, it’s not so much about the disabilities, but rather, the characters. The disabilities just make for a snappy hook for players. I’d recommend it, it was all fan-made so it is pretty impressive
You’d figure a 2-D game would have flat characters.
HAAA.
I played Katawa Shoujo a couple months ago. Way better character writing than it has any right to be. Especially Rin’s storyline (she’s the girl with no arms).
Here’s a video giving a pretty good explination of what the game is if you’re curious (though I don’t agree about the sex scenes feeling forced.) http://youcanplaythis.com/j-dub-reviews-katawa-shoujo/
But at any rate, the comic was funny as usual.
You do have buttsecks with the legless girl though. Just putting that out there.
Personally, I rather like Katawa Shoujo. Especially the deaf-mute girl, because she’s all I AM QUEEN OF LIFE! BOW TO ME, MY PETTY SERVANTS, AND DO AS I COMMAND!
Except then it’s ruined because the main character is a total wuss who’s all like “Okay yeah you’re all assertive and honest and really like having fun, so I’m going to be the exact opposite” instead of being all HAHA YES LET US BE KING AND QUEEN TOGETHER AND TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
And also her story really wasn’t much about her at all, but about how her best friend and the main character are basically dishonest angsty assholes.
IN OTHER WORDS it’s not bad, but the final game (or at least, deaffy’s route) was a lot worse than I was hoping for.
Late reply you will never see but the writer for Shizune’s route (the student council prez) bailed during development so it was weaker than the other routes. Generally, Emi and Lily’s routes are considered the strongest, while Rin’s is the most in depth and challenging. Hanako’s route is pretty rough (but in a crying game sort of way, not that it was poorly written).
You’re mad about a character giving relationship advice in a game about relationships?
I love that game! I started playing it thinking “I’M GONNA LAUGH MY ASS OFF TEEHEE” but end up crying at the stories.
If you click on the X in Anton’s window thingy, it’ll take you to another comic. Not sure if its random or always the same tho
It’s always the same. Patapon is the comic it takes you to. I tried like 10 times just in case but its always like that
Actually Katawa Shoujo was made in America (I think so anyways) either way it’s freeeeeee~ (I found out about you from strip search btw I love your work! <3)
Just started playing the game and I love it.
ahahahahahahahahaha he likes 2d girls lol he’s such a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooserrrrrrrr u tell him grrrrrrrrrrrl
I… don’t think this is japanese.
Done by a triad of dudes (or weebs. take your pick. :P) from /a/.
